Now
Dermot, yout T4 colleague, Margherita Taylor,
told us you're single...
Yeah, happily so, to be honest. I like going
on dates and having a bit of fun, getting to
know different girls. You have to go out with
a lot before you find the right one - that's
the whole point, isn't it?
But you must meet gorgeous girls through
T4. Have you fancied anyone you've interviewed?
Most of them! I really liked Emma Bunton - she's
sweet - and Rachel from S Club 7 is a honey.
And I do like Irish girls, especially Andrea
Corr. Ben (Shephard) and I were presenting Party
In The Park on T4 last year, and we'd been arguing
about who got to interview The Corrs. He won
and I got Chris Tarrant. I had to do a link
at the end of Ben's interview, and I kept thinking,
'Say something really funny in front of them
and Andrea will fall into your arms'. In the
end I came out with 'Well thanks for having
us lads!' They just looked at me blankly. In
fact Andrea didn't look at all. Maybe I should
have sung a Robbie Williams number or something.
Not
that good with girls then?
No. When I was younger - I'm 26 now - I tried
to chat up this girl; I sat down opposite her
and said 'Hi how are you?' She turned to her
mate and went (sticks his fingers down his throat,
making gagging sound) so I got the message.
Even now, if I pluck up the courage to talk
to a girl, she'll give me a we're-not-on-the-same-planet
look, and act like she's insulted that I tried
to ask her out.
I
find that very hard to believe. I'd definitely
go out with you - what kind of girls do you
go for?
I like petite girls with Mediterranean looks,
though there aren't many swanning around north
west London, where I live. But that doesn't
rule out any others. Personality-wise, I love
independent girls- clingy ones who call up crying
at 2am aren't for me. And it's a cliché
but I like a good sense of humour. Someone who
can laugh with me, rather than at me!
Hmm...If
I knelt down and dyed my hair black I could
almost be your ideal woman. What would you be
like if you were my boyfriend?
I'm very romantic. I'd make you feel wanted
- call you if you were having a bad day, make
sure the flowers I sent got to you on time...and
I like sending girls vodka as well, that always
goes down well.
That'll
do for me. And how saucy are you?
I'm wilder now that I've got my own place. It
can get outrageous if my flatmate catches me
walking around naked. Guys don't like to run
into each other in the hallway with no clothes
on, believe me.
I wouldn't mind. Where did you say you lived?
London. Anyway, I did go out with this Italian
girl who was up for things like covering me
in chocolate and licking it off. but I just
felt messy and sticky.
So
you wouldn't let me eat chocolate off you?
Not melted no. Perhaps a few whole Mars Bars...
Okay, I'm just off to the shop...
