What do you wake up
to in the morning?
My flat mate begrudgingly gives me
a cup of coffee and then I listen to either XFM, or 5 Live, or sometimes
GLR.
You've got your flatmate well trained then.
Mmm. Yes, we have this awful thing, where whoever gets up first makes
the coffee. But as I have to get up really early sometimes, it doesn't
always work.
What music do you have on in the car?
I don't have a car, but I hum a lot on my bike. Right now I'm humming
the new Smashing Pumpkins song, and the Handsome Boy Modelling School
album is fantastic.
What's the last video you rented and were you
late in returning it?
Can't remember what it was, but I was late returning it. And it was bollocks
as well, which is annoying because I begrudge ending up paying about eight
quid for a video. It's terrible really, because I live right next door
to Blockbuster.
What was the last film you saw?
The Beach, I liked it, but I didn't like the hallucinogenic thing, I thought
that was rubbish. I haven't read the book and everybody that left the
cinema that had read the book said it was rubbish, but everybody that
hadn't said it was quite good.
So have ou ever cried at the cinema?
Oh yeah, I'm a real blubber. Really embarrassing films as well, things
like Kramer Vs Kramer. I found myself almost crying at an episode of The
Simpsons once. I'm such a twat.
What's the strangest thing you've ever seen on
the Internet?
Driveways.com. You can have a screensaver of driveways that belong to
stars, but they're quite shit stars like Vanilla Ice and George Hamilton.
They're all pretty nondescript, innocuous driveways.
Can you DJ?
As in spin discs? No way! And I hate people that say they can, when they
can't. What people forget is that DJing is like playing an instrument,
it's quite a hard thing to do. But I was playing CDs and I went from Blur's
Parklife to the theme tune from Minder. That went down a storm.
Have you got any pictures of famous people pinned
up around the house?
My flatmate went a bit mad in the toilet with Cameron Diaz and Natalie
Imbruglia. It's quite good, because we've juxtaposed then with pictures
of Great White Sharks, so we have the beauty of nature with the brutalities
of nature.
Ever owned a dirty video?
I used to live with a porn king at University called Eddie, so I've never
owned any myself, but Eddie had a film called Buttman 2 which he was very
proud of.
What is your perfect Saturday night?
If I was working the next day, I'd try and get the work done as early
as I can, know my script, then sit down with a couple of beers watching
Match of the Day. Otherwise, it would be getting together with mates in
town and drinking to all hours.
Who would you give this year's best actor Oscar
to?
Nic Cage for his amazing performance in Bringing Out The Dead.
Who's the most annoying person on TV?
Jamie Oliver. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but even though he's always on
TV, every interview I read he says, "I couldn't be fussed with television."
And that's so obviously not the case.
